A trip to London is always so much fun and I think that it can really be helped by having a car on hand. I have tried London with and without a car and found having a car a far better option especially with a young family in tow. We flew in to Heathrow and everyone was already tired and the prospect of having to wait around for a train was very daunting so we hired a car and it was fantastic.

It made travelling around so much quicker and easier and it gave the children a rest between the different places that we were visiting. They even had a nap at times, which I don’t think they would have been able to do on the tube or on a bus. They also seemed a lot more relaxed and able to walk further knowing that they would be able to sit down in the car when we were returning to the hotel. I found it better too as I do find it quite annoying waiting fro public transport and so being able to just get to the car and set off straight away was a lovely feeling for me. I guess we are lucky that my husband likes driving and so is happy to take us through London, which could be daunting for some, but was really very easy and I could have easily coped with it myself, had I needed to. I will definitely be hiring a car next time we visit the city too.
