In less than a month, I am going to have another semester of university under my belt. The crazy thing about realizing that this semester is winding down to end is knowing that once it does, I will have six semesters successfully completed, which means that I will be over halfway done with my time at university. Because it is difficult to find short term housing during the summer, I will be spending mine with my parents back at home. A lot of people don’t like going back to live with their parents, but since I know this is just a temporary phase, I’m excited about getting to eat all of the great food my Mom loves to cook. The only thing standing in between me and my time back home is the final examinations that so many people dread.
Luckily, I have been a very attentive student this semester, and while I know I will be doing a lot of studying between now and the end of the semester, I am confident that I will perform well on all of my final examinations. To reward myself for my upcoming strong performance on my final examinations, I have already made some summer plans. Once I move back home to London, I am taking an old friend with me and we are picking up a Heathrow airport car hire I reserved. Having the Heathrow airport car hire will give us the ability to take a road trip and kick off the summer in a fun way. Since the two of us have both been working hard at university, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate starting the summer than to enjoy the freedom of being on the road for a full week.

Since it has been the main focus of bloggers, newspapers and the television media for the last month or so, you have undoubtedly heard about the swine flu virus that began in Mexico and is spreading around the world. The reason people took notice of the H1N1 flu virus is because as it was spreading throughout Mexico, it was the cause of the deaths of many people there. Although it is true that the H1N1 virus has continued its spread across the world, it is not causing the same level of fatalities that it initially did in Mexico. I brought this issue up because it is hard for me to figure out why people continue to be extremely worried about swine flu when it is proving to be much less serious than initially believed. While I find it strange that there is still such a high level of worry about swine flu, a lot of nations are still taking steps to try and lessen the fears of their citizens.
Regardless of the fact that the swine flu worries continue, I am not going to let them interfere with my summer travel plans. I already planned on taking a trip to London in the middle of the summer, and I’m not going to let this swine flu issue deter me from visiting London (which is a place I have wanted to go for awhile now). Given the fact that I have reserved a Heathrow airport car hire, hotel room and flight, I can’t even imagine what a pain it would be to change all of those reservations at this point. However, because people have a short attention span, I’m guessing that they will have already calmed down by the time my trip actually gets here and I won’t even have to worry about canceling it!
