As you may know, last week Marilyn Manson released a free track (titled We’re from America” off of his upcoming album (which is going to be called The High End of Low) through his web site. I have always liked Marilyn Manson, and although I really enjoyed his last album (which was a slower and more personal album), from the track that he released, it sounds like his upcoming album is going to be a return to the type of music that made him so famous (or should I say infamous).
As I was listening to his new track, I started thinking about the fact that it has been over a year since I saw Marilyn Manson play in London. He played at the beginning of December in 2007, and the coolest thing about getting to see him was that I had never expected to have that opportunity. The reason that I had flown to London was to spend a couple of weeks with a close friend for Christmas break. However, several days after I got there, my friend found out he was playing, and asked me if I wanted to go. I agreed immediately, and we were able to get tickets at a fairly reasonable price.
If you have never been to a Marilyn Manson concert and get an opportunity to go someday, you should take it because it is an experience you will never forget. Regardless of how you feel about Marilyn Manson as a person, he is an amazing performer, and it’s for that exact reason that I am able to remember his entire concert in London so vividly even though it has been over a year since I attended it.
