I feel so lucky to be a mother. Although I didn’t know if I would be able to handle the responsibilities of being a mother (I think just about every woman goes through this feeling before their child arrives, regardless of how much they have accomplished in their life or how qualified they are to be a mother), as soon as my daughter came into the world, it just seemed like everything made sense all of a sudden. I know that probably doesn’t make sense to you if you aren’t a mother, but if you are a woman and have your own child someday, you will understand exactly what I’m talking about.

Now that my daughter is a couple of years old, it is so much fun to watch her observe the world and try to process her surroundings. When I stop and think about how overwhelming it must be to try to make sense of so many things you don’t understand, I am just very impressed by her never-ending state of curiosity. For example, when we flew to London two months ago, we departed our plane at the Heathrow airport. As soon as we got off of the plane, my daughter could not stop looking around and smiling. I could tell she was taking in all of the sights and sounds, and I think it was a very good experience for her to see such a diverse place at a young age.

At the end of last year, I got an opportunity to take a trip to London. Although this may surprise you, I had never been to London before. However, before you start judging me for being someone who never leaves my own country, I had been to other countries and cities around the world. It just so happens that London was not on the list of places where I had gotten an opportunity to visit.

Fortunately, that all changed at the end of last when my boss called me into his office and asked if I would like to be part of a small team of people who were going to visit London and hold meetings with several potential clients. Since I had always wanted to London, I didn’t hesitate to say yes to his offer.

When we arrived in London and got off of the plane, the first thing that I noticed was how large Heathrow airport was. Once I saw it, it was easy to understand why it’s the biggest airport in London. Fortunately, we found it to be well laid out, and we didn’t have any trouble finding the location where our Heathrow airport car hire was waiting.
